We have yet to explain the jerseys. Basically, it all stems from the Tour de France. Points are given to the cyclists that reach certain points of the race first. The leaders of certain categories wear the corresponding colored jersey. The most famous is the yellow jersey, but of course, there are others. Our green jersey points are listed during an earlier post. We have also added a few other point opportunities. Anyways, here are the current standings.
Yellow - best overall time (GC) - Justin Johnson, Dave Palazzo 0.00 behind
Polka Dot - king of the mountains - Dave Palazzo (66), Justin Johnson (52)
-JJ picked up 2 bonus points by half a wheel as Dave did not finish the climb and was distracted by some elk
Green - best sprinter - Justin Johnson (28), Dave Palazzo (23)
-JJ picked up a "world" sign and the Montana/Wyoming border crossing on today's ride
White - best overall time for rider under 25 - Dave Pallazo (69:30)
TTT = Team Time Trial
ITT = Individual Time Trial
Attacks = "when the person behind you tries to kick your ass" - Ray Johnson
Bonk = suddenly getting ridiculously tired during a ride, often due to a lack of food
Pull - when the rider in front breaks the wind for other riders drafting behind
Peloton - the main body of riders in a bicycle race
Ok, so we'll try one. "Getting dropped" - losing the wheel of the pulling rider or peloton, often caused by an attack or a bonk
Hope that helps. Feel free to send us any questions through the comments.
