With Ray on his way home to Iowa, we are back on our own again with the trailers. Another cold morning but bearable and with a slight tail wind we were making good time. Snow lined the roads and as we headed further south we soon realized we were not quite out of the mountians and cold weather. We were stopped by several people throughout the day warning us to get a hotel in the next town because a storm was rolling in. As far as we could tell the weather was holding, and we kept moving.
Soon we found ourselves in a town called Thermopolis. It was about 5pm, the temperature was dropping quick, and it was obvious bad weather was moving in. Talking with the people in town we had one more obstacle to go over to be clear of the mountains, Wind River Canyon. With some mixed opinions from the locals about whether to go for it or not, we made the decision to go into the canyon. It ended up being a good choice as we were once again sucked into another wind vortex and shot into the next town, Shoshoni, where we found a city park to cook up some pasta roni and hunker down for a cold night.
