The GC

With the king of the mountains jersey all but locked up with Palazzo, the battle for the green jersey heats up. As we transition from the cascades to the rockies, stages 5, 6, and 7 were a day for the sprinters. Two attacks from different farm dogs have lead to 5 points for Justin and another five points for Dave. Since in both instances the loser of the sprint escaped unscaved from the attacking animal, that individual received one point. Nobody wants a half-eaten competitor. The Pallazo also established a 7 point advantage by achieving the first crossing of the Idaho/Montana border on a descent requiring little, if any, skill.

Green Jersey Standings
(1) DP - 23
(2) JJ - 16

Yellow Jersey GC
(1) DP - 52 hours, 45 minutes
(2) JJ - (+ 0.00)

TTT
Also, today's stage was a team time trial. The TTT was a rigourous competition involving the beautiful rolling hills of Montana's glacier region. Team Gutter Ballls fought off lackluster competition and a several unseen grizzly bears to ensure their GC podium status for the participants. Overall time, 4 hours, 2 minutes.

Stage 10 looks to be another battle for the sprinters as the peleton rolls into more grizzly bear country...
